You can request
a “Hold Order” for Hardy Perennials and we will ship them
when it’s planting time in your zone. Otherwise, Hardy
Perennials can be kept in a cool or cold spot like an unheated
garage, cool cellar or outbuilding. Cover the pot and soil
with insulating material (burlap, clean rags, newspaper) and
check the soil every 2-3 weeks to make sure it doesn’t dry
out completely. In the spring, plant as soon as the ground
is open and no longer frozen. Dormant plants can endure
freezing temperatures in the spring as long as the plant
remains dormant without any green buds.
Desert Rose 'Black Asia' (Adenium obesum hybrid)
Another stunning Adenium from Madagascar, ‘Black Asia’s’ blooms are dark and seductive. The flowers are unique: the petals have dark maroon edges that transition from a bright red center to a clear white throat. This Desert Rose flowers nearly continuously if environmental conditions are warm and sunny. We sell a grafted plant with a thickened caudex as seen in the photo. This is a two year-old specimen. Plant is shipped in a 5" clay pot.
Hardy to Zone 10 and higher for outdoors.
Full sun, grows 1-3' in container, minimum temperature indoors 60°, intermittent bloomer.
