Bamboo “Sunset Glow” (Fargesia rufa)
One of the hardiest and most vigorous clumping bamboos, Fargesia ‘Rufa’ has beautiful orange-red cane sheaths with the traditional narrow bamboo leaves. The growth habit is slightly weeping and very dense. “Sunset Glow” is a non-invasive, high mountain, clumping bamboo that originated in China at elevations of 1000-3500', which is why it is hardy to zone 5a in the garden. It also makes an ideal container plant. Fargesia ‘Rufa’ is sun and wind tolerant and makes a wonderful hedge or garden screen.
