Corkscrew Flower (Vigna caracalla)
Impressive and intense describes the highly fragrant, white to pink-purple flowers of this twining climber. Its snail-shell blooms form in tight clusters, in late summer to early fall, perfuming the air for those that dare.
Hardy to Zone 10 and higher for outdoors.
Full sun, grows to 1-3’ in container, vining in habit, minimum temperature 60°, blooms in summer and fall.
Fragrant!

Unusual! |
| For those of you into unusual climbers, this is a fun one. Here in NE Ohio, while not exactly a vigorous or highly productive bloomer, it does its thing in late August-late thru September bearing very fragrant, funky-looking flowers that create a lot of attention. Unfortunately have not had success with any indoor overwintering techniques, so I treat it as a luxury annual. |
