Gardenia ‘Diamond’s Fragrant Delight’ (Gardenia hybrid)
Just when we thought we’d seen everything in the world of gardenias, our friend Mike Diamond gave us this unusual cultivar. The foliage and growth habit are robust and the flowers are huge, often 5” across. At the center of each bloom is a small tuft of petals. Holding true to gardenia fragrance, “Diamonds’ Fragrant Delight” is intoxicating and heady, just like its namesake. Blooms appear throughout the growing season from late winter until fall. Plants have good resistance to root diseases that often plague gardenias in container culture. Shipped in a 4” terra cotta style plastic pot with saucer.
Hardy to Zone 8 and higher for outdoors.
Full or partial sun, grows to 12-14" in container, minimum temperature indoors 60°, intermitent bloomer.
Fragrant!
