Giant Clumping Bamboo (Chusquea gigantea)
Giant Clumping Bamboo is an outstanding specimen bamboo with prominent nodes along each cane and a slight bend at the tip. New shoots emerge a bright light green. It can reach heights of 20’ or more when planted directly into the ground. As a container plant, height can be maintained by the size of the pot it’s grown in. Although a clumping bamboo, individual canes can spread up to 12” apart. It’s best grown as a large landscape specimen or potted plant.
