Hedge Bamboo (Bambusa multiplex) |
Hedge Bamboo (Bambusa multiplex)
Bambusa multiplex is a sub-tropical bamboo that’s easy to maintain and one of the best bamboos for indoor container gardening. It grows quickly into a large dramatic fountain shape with strong 1.5” diameter canes and long narrow leaves. “Hedge Bamboo” is a non-invasive clumping species that makes an outstanding ornamental screen or specimen plant. It easily achieves full height in a large container. Bamboo prefers well-drained soil and grows in full sun to partial shade. Mature height is 18'; although pruning and pot size can regulate mature height. Hardy to zone 8b.

Neat Little Bamboo |
| I got this bamboo last fall and initially it lost about half its leaves in the first few days and I was quite concerned, however over the course of the winter *its an indoor plant* it has recovered quite nicely and is putting out a lot of new leaves. Only one new culm really shot out during the past months, however as its spring Im hoping to get a few more. Its pretty tolerant of my semi-low light conditions and seems like it will be a plant to last. |
