Passion Flower ‘Giant Granadilla’ (Passiflora quadrangularis)
Grown both for its showy flowers and fruit, “Giant Granadilla” is the largest fruiting passionflower with fruit reaching the size of a football! The ripe fruit turns a golden color and is a sweet edible fleshy treat. The pulp is used commercially in passion fruit juices. The large 4-5” flowers have uniquely long twisting purple filaments. In the northern latitudes it tends to be a fall bloomer. The vine is large and needs support and room to grow. With lots of light, regular watering and moderate fertilizer, Passiflora quadrangularis will flower in under a year and produce fruit shortly thereafter. Prune only after flowering.
Hardy to Zone 10 and higher for outdoors.
Full sun, grows to1-3'' in container, minimum temperature indoors 50°, everblomer.
We are sorry, due to agricultural regulations, Passiflora cannot be shipped to Hawaii.
