Passion Flower platyloba (Passiflora platyloba)
Like a fairy taking flight or a colorful Japanese lantern, Passiflora platyloba creates a most unusual floral display. Each flower has 3 large petals with strikingly marked purple and white speckled filaments that hang down from the petals. This Central American native has a rich fragrance, which is distinctly and sweetly different than other passion flowers. Flowering occurs during the longer days of the year, especially when grown in full sun and poor soil.
Hardy to Zone 9 and higher for outdoors.
Full sun, grows to 3-5' in container, minimum temperature 55°, blooms in spring and summer.
Fragrant!
We are sorry, due to agricultural regulations, Passiflora cannot be shipped to Hawaii.
