Patchouli (Pogostemon heyneanus)
This fragrant herb from India is famous for its use in perfumery. When you rub the leaves, they emit an exotic scent. It is a fast grower that has a bushy form and takes well to hard pruning. Grow it in full sun and even if you forget to water it on occasion, it is forgiving.
Hardy to Zone 10 and higher for outdoors.
Full sun, grows to 12" in container, blooms in
fall.

| This plant exceeded my expectations, a hardy grower it excelled in the hot North Carolina sun as a beautiful patio container plant while offering fragrant leaves and flowers all season. In the fall, I did a cutting which rooted easily and was brought indoors., The rest of the leaves were picked and dried for potpouri. The scent is fantastic. |
