Regal Red Japanese Painted Fern (Athyrum niponicum pictum)
This high-color selection of the Japanese Painted Fern has a striking violet-red band in the center of each frond accented by silver-green edges. Fronds are slightly ruffled giving the fern a nice full appearance. Grow in moist soil in a shady location. ‘Regal Red’ is a deciduous, slow spreading fern that interplants well with other shade garden perennials.
Hardy to Zone 4-9 for outdoors.
Shade, grows to 2-20" in container.
