Sansevieria kirkii var pulchra (Sansevieria hybrid)
Sansevierias are indestructible houseplants: they tolerate a wide range of light conditions from low light to full sun and long periods of dryness. This rare and unusual species comes from SE tropical Africa and is a moderate grower reaching about 16-20” in containers. The wide, stiff leaves have wavy edges and the gray-green leaf color is richly mottled with pale pinkish-green highlights. Allow the soil to dry between waterings especially during the winter months. They will even grow when watered only twice a month. Young offshoot plants will grow around the mother plant, which in time will create a very full specimen. Our head grower, Rick Logee, found this plant in 1975 and has been growing it ever since.
Hardy to Zone 10 and higher for outdoors.
Full or partial sun, grows to 12-24" in container, minimum temperature indoors 40°, blooms in summer.
