Medinilla ‘Lalique’ (Medinilla alata 'Lalique')
A spectacular sight to behold, Medinilla ‘Lalique’ has clusters of lavender-blue flower bracts with translucent-white blooms. The burgundy calyxes and flower stems have a shape that’s reminiscent of a chandelier. Once flowering is complete, red berries appear and they mature to deep magenta. We’ve had ‘Lalique’ bloom in both winter and summer in our greenhouses. Grow this compact plant in well-drained soil and partial sun. Medinilla ‘Lalique’ is a native of Indonesia, however, some claim ‘Lalique’ is the former Medinilla crassata from the
Philippines. Regardless of its origin, it is a stunning plant that will bring you much enjoyment.
