And easily over winters here in Zone 5B indoors.
For years I have grown "garden heliotrope" - the purple one - from seed thinking it was just an Annual. Nope - while you need to be in Zone 10 or higher for this to make it in the ground, it is a Perennial - just not in my zone. But I was delighted when I found that I could over winter it indoors. So not only do I enjoy the wonderful vanilla scent (it never stops blooming), but I can enjoy it for more than one season and more than one year.
Here I keep it in a kitchen area where it gets light from a South facing window. And it does not complain. During the Summer months, I keep it on a screened in porch where it gets a lot of filtered Southern light and seems happy. (Posted on 11/30/2015)
