Light:
Full sun - the more sun the better.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures above 35 degrees.
Humidity:
Preferably 50% or
higher; however, they will tolerate low
levels with no harm.
Watering:
Bring soil to visual dryness between watering.
They have a high water demand so attention needs to be given to
watering needs.
Fertilizer:
Fertilize
once a week with ¼ to 1/2 teaspoon of a balanced soluble fertilizer
per gallon of water. Under cooler winter temperatures and lower
light levels stop feeding. They are heavy feeders when grown under
high light and warm temperatures.

Pruning:
Prune after fruit has ripened or if growth is
excessive. They are fast
growers when given root room and fertilizer.
They take well to a severe pruning if needed.
Insects and
Disease:
Highly susceptible to whitefly and aphids.
Some susceptibility to spider mite and mealy bug.
Comments:
Cyphomandra is fast and easy to grow and fruit.
Container size and fertilization will regulate the size of
the plant. They
generally flower throughout the year although in the north the
flowering cycle is usually in spring with fruit ripening in late
summer through winter.
