Minimum
indoor temperature above 60°F; however, they will tolerate periods of
cool temperatures.
Humidity:
Preferably
50% or higher; however, they will tolerate low levels without harm.
Watering:
Water
when the medium is visually dry.
Fertilizer:
Apply
monthly or bi-monthly during active growth. Fertilize with ˝
tsp/gallon of a balanced fertilizer (ie: 5-10-3, 7-9-5, 10-10-10).
Pruning:
Prune
young plants to encourage branching. Mature plants can be pruned back
when they are too large. Pruning does slow down flowering. They can
take a hard pruning easily.
Insects and
Disease:
Some
susceptibility to root disease, no insect problems. Only vulnerable to
root disease under cool, damp conditions.
Comments:
Flowering
cycle in the winter. Use in terrariums or in a hanging basket. This is
a terrestrial orchid and is more tolerant than other epiphytic
orchids.
