Water
when the soil is visually dry. More dryness will create a bushy plant.
Saturate thoroughly until water runs out of the pot. Keep in a clay
pot, which will help maintain a healthy root system.
Fertilizer:
Minimal
fertilizer, once every two months. A dilute solution of ¼ tsp/gallon
of a balanced fertilizer (ie: 5-10-3, 7-9-5, 10-10-10).
Pruning:
The
plant is a trailing vine so to maintain it as a bonsai it needs to be
periodically trimmed. Without regular pruning the plant will vine.
Insects and
Disease:
Not
susceptible.
Comments:
Restriction
of water and high light creates a bushy specimen. A fast growing,
instant bonsai can be enjoyed with this senecio. Culture is the key.
