Light:
|
Full sun, partial
sun or shade (southern, eastern or western or northern exposure).
|

Temperature:
|
As a potted
plant, maintain indoor temperatures above 50 degrees.
During the winter, however, temperatures above 60 degrees are
preferred to maintain active growth.
|
|
Humidity:
|
Preferably 50% or
higher; however they will tolerate low levels for short periods with
no harm.
|
|
Watering:
|
Bring soil to a
state of visual dryness between watering and then thoroughly saturate
the potting mix.
|
|
Fertilizer:
|
Go easy on the
fertilizer: ˝ tsp./gallon every two weeks.
Under lower light or cool temperatures reduce the frequency of
fertilizer applications.
|
|
Pruning:
|
No pruning is
necessary as they are short stubby growers.
|
|
Insects and
Disease:
|
For the most part
is not highly susceptible to insects.
However, they will attract scale and mealy bugs, if infected
plants are nearby.
|

Comments:
|
Tetranemas are
great plants for any situation that has limited space. They
do best under partial sun conditions with temperatures above 60
degrees. They are small
enough growers to be used in terrariums. As
long as the light level is high enough they never stop flowering.
Extremely dry atmospheres and high levels of fertilizer are
hard on them.
