Joy Logee Martin loved her lavender and would often pick her own sprigs from her herb garden.  After harvesting, drying and admiring them as a bouquet for a time, she would eventually strip the flowers and put them in a hand-sewn sachet and place the sachet in her fine clothes drawer.  Or she would put the loose flowers in a jar and admire their color for years to come.
