Giant Wax Plant (Hoya lauterbachii)
Hoya lauterbachii is one of the largest Hoyas in existence and is phenomenal in its color, form and fragrance. Each individual bloom measures three inches across, the size of a small coffee cup. The entire cluster has 7-8 individual blossoms measuring close to the size of a soccer ball. The reddish-coppery flowers have a cream-colored center and a delicious fragrance, much like the scent of chocolate candy wrappers. Flowering starts once the plant is mature, 6’ to 8’ of vine. But once it reaches maturity this hoya will never cease to amaze you. This easy-to-grow vigorous climber is robust and needs support. Grow on a trellis, train on stakes or give plenty of room to ramble around. Some direct sunlight with periods of dryness works best.

  1. Nice healthy plant. Review by Burr
How do you rate this product?

I like this plant because it doesn't seem to be finicky. It just grows. It has a furry feel to it's leaves and a nice green color. I try to watch out for drafts, cold and heat variations (plant porch) but so far so good. (Posted on 4/8/2016)

  2. So far, so good! Review by Linda
How do you rate this product?

I received this plant earlier this spring. It was a 12" vine when I received it. It has at least doubled in size since that time and has sent off additional shoots as well. It is happy and healthy and seems to like its current location. Can't wait to see how quickly it gets to 6 to 8 feet long. I rated a 4 only due to the fact that I do not know if it will bloom for me or not. Currently, I am very happy with this plant. (Posted on 11/22/2015)
