'Maria Montessori' is a fully double-flowered hibiscus that's a visual delight for the gardener. The 5-6" ruffled blooms have orange centers and yellow outer petals. The Klahanie hibiscus have been hybridized so the flowers last 2-3 days instead of the usual 24 hours. Grow in full sun with plenty of water and fertilizer for optimum blooming.
|Sun Requirement||Full Sun|
|Minimum Temperature Indoors||60|
Tips for Success:
• Sun, sun and more sun.
• They are warm-growing plants and suffer if subjected to
cool temperatures over extended periods. As a rule, keep
temperatures above 65°F, especially in the winter.
• Water on visual soil dryness or plant wilt. Severe wilt can hurt
them. Careful watering is critical during the winter or anytime
when the light level is low and temperatures are cool.
• Under high light and warm temperatures they are
heavy feeders and need a balanced fertilizer applied
on a regular basis. A fertilizer like Dyna Gro “Grow” 7-9-5 will
help induce blooms.
• Flowering varies widely between varieties. Full sun, warm
temperatures, a balanced fertilizer and careful attention to
watering will produce the best results for your hibiscus.

This is a beautiful flower! I love the color which is a yellow tinged with red. It seems to me to be a bit more complex that this photo shows. I would like to add that the plants which Logees send are in wonderful condition. I don't think I have had this for two months and it is already blooming (here in Florida). Will enjoy for a long time. (Posted on 11/16/2015)
