Meadow Blazing Star (Liatris ligulistylis)
Attract butterflies and bring a dash of color to the late summer garden with Meadow Blazing Star, a native of central and western United States. It’s a magnet for the monarch butterfly as well as many other pollinators. The rose-purple flower form as tufts along the 2-3’ stems and open from the top down over several weeks in late summer. The plant prefers full sun and somewhat dry conditions. Once established, it’s a long-lived perennial that will support the butterflies for years.
