Myrtle Standard (Myrtus communis microphylla)
Myrtle is one of the most responsive plants to shape into a standard or topiary. Its fine fragrant leaves can be sheared into a shrub or trained as a standard. Small white bursts of flowers adorn our Myrtle Standard in the summertime followed by small berries. It makes a nice tabletop centerpiece or buy a pair and frame a doorway or windowsill. For the past 100 years, we have had Myrtle Standards in our herb collection for their finery and fragrance. We couldn’t imagine our gardens without them. Myrtle Standard is grown in a 5” pot and ranges from 10-15” tall.
