Propagation
Classes
3-Class Series hosted by
Nathaniel, an experienced Logee's grower.
At
the end of the classes you'll take home 3 plants in 4" pots that you've
grown from cuttings.
Each
class will run from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Saturday,
January 16, 2010
"Cutting
and Rooting"- Nathaniel, the instructor, will introduce you to the
concept of plant propagation and answer any questions you may have.
You'll see how Logee's takes cuttings and how you can do it at home.
You'll learn the propagation method of rooting asexual cuttings into
different mediums. You'll select which plants you want to grow and
propagate the new plants yourself under Nathaniel's guidance.
Saturday, February 13, 2010
"Potting
cuttings into 2.5" pots"- When you arrive at class you'll
check the growth of the young plants you started in January. You'll
learn how to properly pot young plants (or plugs) into 2.5" pots.
Nathaniel will show you when young plants are ready to be potted up and
discuss plant growth and mortality.
Saturday, March 20, 2010
"Finishing
plants in 4" pots"- When you arrive at class you'll see how
much your plants have grown in the last 6 weeks. During this season
you'll pot up the plants from 2.5" pots into larger 4" pots.
Nathaniel will explain important cultural care for your plants after they
leave our greenhouses: light requirements, plant nutrition, pest control and
pruning. At the end of this class you will leave with the 3 plants
you've grown from cuttings.
