Bowiea volubilis "Climbing Onion"
This one truly thrives on neglect. A member of the lily family from South Africa, it’s an old favorite that’s easy to grow and puts on a fanciful display. In late winter, vining stems emerge from the bulb, or "onion." With great vigor and determination, they grow up any nearby support. As they mature, dense lacy branches form and give a full appearance. When fall arrives, the growth dies back going into a period of dormancy.
Hardy to Zone 10 and higher for outdoors.
Full or partial sun, grows to 16" in container,
minimum temperature 40°.
Easy Grower!
