Shade Plants

Shade-loving plants do not require direct sunlight, but they still require bright, indirect light to grow and thrive. When grown outside, these plants are ideal for a somewhat shaded location that receives dappled light for most of the day. When grown inside, place them on a northeast, northwest or north-facing window keeping them out of any hot direct sunlight. Late afternoon sun or morning sun is fine. In a light garden, even shade-loving plants require 12-15 hours of light depending on the season.
