Perfect for bonsai or just potted on the windowsill, this semi-tuberous begonia species from South Africa brings sculptured form to the indoor garden. Although first brought into cultivation in the 1860’s, this begonia has never yet received the recognition deserving of this adaptable houseplant. Begonia ‘Richardsiana’ has small maple-shaped leaves and it flowers freely from spring to fall with the pearly white blossoms hanging like jewels among the sprawling branches. A swollen trunk or caudex develops on older plants giving it unique form.
The 2.5" plant is shipped in a 2.5" plastic pot; the 3" is shipped in a 3" glazed ceramic bonsai pot. (Pots vary in color and shape.)
