Begonia ‘Richardsiana’ (Begonia dregei ‘Richardsiana’)
Perfect for bonsai or just potted on the windowsill, this semi-tuberous species from South Africa brings sculptured form to the indoor garden. Although first brought into cultivation in the 1860’s, it has never yet received the recognition deserving of this adaptable houseplant. Begonia ‘Richardsiana’ has small maple-shaped leaves and it flowers freely from spring to fall with the pearly white blossoms hanging like jewels among the sprawling branches. A swollen trunk or caudex develops on older plants giving it unique form. Shipped in a 3" glazed ceramic bonsai pot. (Pots vary in color and shape.)

  1. Great houseplant for all Review by Nicholas
How do you rate this product?

I've had this begonia for a year now and it is doing GREAT! It is so cute and has dealt with a pretty harsh thrashing from the cat, a big environment change, and a wide range of humidity and amount of virtual light and sunlight. I had expected it to be pretty upset with me after everything it has been through, but has surpassed all expectations and handled everything VERY well, has grown a LOT, and is currently flowering on the windowsill. Definitely a hardy and lovely plant. (Posted on 5/20/2018)
