Ficus plants, include more than 800 species some of which are fruiting plants, like Fig trees, or ornamental plants with striking foliage. They are native to tropical regions and can grow up to several feet tall. Fruiting Fig trees need full sun, consistent watering and regular fertilization for maximum fruit yields. They can be grown in containers in northern zones and moved inside during the cold winter months when the plants are dormant. Decorative foliage Ficus plants need bright, indirect light, so placing them near a window or under a skylight is ideal.
