Fortunella / Kumquat Trees

Kumquat trees, also known as Fortunella, are a type of small citrus tree native to Southeast Asia. These evergreen trees produce miniature, orange-colored fruit that are edible, skin and all. Easy to grow and maintain, Kumquat trees are self-fertile and can be grown in a container for gardeners in northern zones or in outdoor gardens in zones 9 and higher. There are several varieties of Kumquats: Nagami, Meiwa and Changhou, each with their own unique fruit shape and flavor. The fruit can be eaten fresh or used in cooking, baking, or as a tasty addition to cocktails and beverages. Kumquats are an excellent choice for anyone looking to grow a low-maintenance fruit tree that produces delicious and nutritious fruit.
