This low-growing Chinese Salvia makes a wonderful garden plant in milder climates and an excellent potted plant for May and early June flowers. Spikes of purple-blue blossoms rise above the low growing foliage, and like most salvias it is easy to grow. Pots can be wintered over in a cold frame or cool growing space in areas colder than zone 7. In Chinese medicine it is used to treat a variety of aliments related to circulation.
