Saturday, October 7th:

10-11 am: All About Orchids Class (Free) with Logee's owner and horticulturist, Byron Martin: Orchid care is one of our most requested topics. Learn the basic care of orchids: potting, re-potting, re-blooming, cultural needs and seasonal care. Many types of orchids will be discussed including Phalaenopsis, Cattleya, Oncidiums, Phaius, Miltonias, Dendrobiums and terrestrial Jewel orchids.


11:30 am: Greenhouse Tour (Free) with retail grower, Danny Briere: You don't need reservations. Simply appear for the morning tour and learn the history of Logee’s. View the Ponderosa Lemon Tree, which has been growing in the same spot since 1900. Walk through our Big House where you’ll see camellias, Angel’s Trumpet plants, Calamondin oranges, a kumquat tree, and epiphyllums. Visit our Fern House and Potting Shed and see our giant staghorn ferns and our everblooming hibiscus ‘The Path,’ as well as other interesting vining plants. Get a tour of our new state-of-the-art Propagation Facility and our mother plant Begonia House, closed to the public except for our “Customer Appreciation Days.”


Sunday, October 8th:

10-11 am: Create Your Own Terrarium Class ($29.95) with Logee's retail grower, Danny Briere: The $29.95 fee includes the terrarium kit (glass container, rocks, charcoal) and three miniature terrarium plants or mini succulents. Other plants will be available for purchase. You’ll go home with a stunning terrarium to keep for yourself or give away as a one-of-a-kind gift.

Learn how to take common herbs and concoct them into a powerful immune booster for the upcoming winter season. Come to this class and simply pay for the materials and go home with your own tonic. Super Immunity tincture is made with all organic ingredients. This makes enough tincture for many years.  Some people call it “fire water” or others call it “anti-plague” medicine. Learn about the significance of the moon and intentions that go into your individual concoction and why that matters.

 

Saturday, November 4th:

10-11 am: Create Your Own Air Plant Gifts Class ($24.95) with Logee's retail staff, Shannon Madden & Marissa Williams: Learn how to display air plants from growing them out of shells to hanging them with crystals and a dozen other ways to make them into desirable gifts. Also, learn about the culture and care of air plants. Class includes 3 small air plants. Please feel free to bring your own container.

 

Saturday, November 18th:

10-11 am: Make Your Own Kokedama Class ($24.95) with Logee's growers, Amelia Green & Desirée Nordby: Prepare to get your hands dirty! Learn how to make Japanese moss balls and begin your own string garden. We will offer partial light and moisture loving plants for you to craft into your own living orb. You will go home with your own moss ball, which can be a great gift, or keep it and start a string garden in your own indoor growing space.

 

Saturday, December 2nd:

10-11 am: Make Your Own Holiday Evergreen Centerpiece Class ($19.95) with sixth generation grower, Shelly Gray: Create your own holiday centerpiece with evergreens, and decorate and style it to your own individual taste. You will go home with a beautiful holiday centerpiece.
