Valentine Pummelo (Citrus maxima)
A new citrus release from the University of CA Riverside, Valentine Pummelo has deliciously sweet, juicy, grapefruit-like, red-fleshed fruit that is high in anthocyanin making it an antioxidant-rich fruit. Valentine Pummelo gets its large size and low acidity from its Pummelo parent and the rich red color from Ruby Blood Orange. Fruit ripens from January through March. It has an easy-peel rind and each large fruit yields on average 7 oz of juice – so one fruit supplies a whole glass of nutrient-rich nectar. This grafted plant has more vigor and will bloom sooner.
Hardy to Zone 9 and higher for outdoors.
Full sun, grows to 3-5' in container, minimum temperature indoors 50°, Intermittent bloomer.
Fragrant!
