Does Logee's offer Express Delivery?

Yes, Logee's currently offers both FedEx 1-Day and FedEx 2-Day shipping (available to most zip codes). All Express orders require both a complete street address and daytime phone number. (Sorry, FedEx will not deliver to P.O. Boxes).
FedEx 1-Day - Orders received by 12 Midnight (Monday - Wednesday) will be shipped the following day. Orders received after 12 Midnight on Wednesday will be shipped the following week. We cannot guarantee overnight delivery for Alaska and Hawaii (the FedEx 1-Day service is not guaranteed for some locations in those states). 1-Day orders are not shipped on Friday to avoid having the plants sit somewhere over the weekend.
FedEx 2-Day - Orders must be placed by midnight Tuesday for same week delivery. 2-Day orders are not shipped Thursday or Friday to avoid having the plants sit somewhere over the weekend.
NOTES:
1) Some items (those which start with a "DS" or "KS") are not shipped via Express shipping, these items will ship via standard shipping (you will not be charged any additional express shipping fees for this item).
2) Any back-ordered items will be shipped using standard shipping when ready.
Express charges are calculated based on the weight of the order and the location being delivered to, our website will indicate the shipping charges for each shipping option.

Does Logee's Ship All Year?

Yes, weather-permitting. Logee's closely tracks the weather and ships only when there is a long enough period of time with mild enough weather. Although temperatures in your region may be warm enough to receive plants, local temperatures may not allow us to successfully ship orders containing live plants each day. In the event temperatures do not allow us to ship your order by standard shipping you can choose our insulated express shipping (see "How Does Logee's Ship in Winter Weather?").

How Does Logee's Ship in Winter Weather?

When the winter begins Logee's starts using USPS Priority Mail for all standard shipping because the priority mail travels mostly by air and the post office never leaves its packages in trucks outside overnight.  Between careful monitoring of the weather (see our map and details below) and the priority mail service we have had very good success.  However, sometime packages do freeze ... please contact us immediately if you have a problem.  When the day-time temperature falls close to freezing (either in Connecticut or your state) we can no longer ship safely using priority mail.  At that point, you may choose our insulated express shipping (see below) or wait until the weather warms enough to safely ship.

Insulated Express Shipping
When the day-time temperatures fall to freezing or below (either in Connecticut or your state) the only way to safely ship plants is to use insulated express shipping.  We offer both FedEx 2-Day and Overnight options.  In either case, your plants are packed in an insulated box with a heat pack at no additional charge.  Our current testing shows that this method should protect packages in weather down to about 18° F for a daytime high and about 15° F for a night-time low (a little lower if you choose 1-day shipping).  If your local temperatures are lower we will hold the order until it is safe to ship or you can contact us - the insulated shipping may still be available as long as you use overnight shipping and will be home to receive the package.  Note: Our insulated shipping method is only available with overnight or two day shipping because the heat packs do not last long enough to use in standard shipping.

The map below shows how Logee's divides the country into zones by weather patterns.

map

Typical Winter Shipping for Standard Shipping:
Zone AN
- Usually too cold for nearly the entire winter
Zone AA - Usually too cold for much of the winter
Zone AW - Usually too cold for a good portion of the winter
Zone AL - Usually too cold for a good portion of the winter
Zone AE - Periods of warmth and cold so shipping is sporadic
Zone AM - Usually warm enough, but shipping is sporadic because of Connecticut weather
Zone AS - Usually warm enough, but shipping is sporadic because of Connecticut weather

What is a 'Hold Order'?

We will ship your order at whatever future date you specify that is your ideal planting time. The plants will be reserved for you and cared for in our greenhouses until your specified ship date. Please note: Your credit card will be charged when your order is placed (this immediately reserves your plants from our limited and perishable inventory.) To place a hold order, either enter the date on the checkout page (under "Order Hold Date") or mention it to the customer service representative when you call.

Does Logee's ship outside of the Continental U.S.?

Yes, unlike many nurseries Logee's does ship outside of the Continental U.S.  However, live plants shipped outside the continental U.S. require special handling, inspection, and certification.  These orders will experience a delay in shipping in order to schedule the certification required by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture.  We regret that we cannot provide the Logee's guaranteed delivery of live plants to U.S. Territories and Outlying Areas (due to handling of customs, etc. which is beyond our control, Logee's cannot guarantee safe delivery).

    Alaska and Hawaii

•  There are no additional restrictions, Alaska and Hawaii are treated the same as the continental U.S.  This includes the Logee's 100% guarantee.  There are, however, some items that cannot be shipped to Alaska and Hawaii because of the size or weight, the item numbers for these items start with a "DS" or "KS."

U.S. Territories and Outlying Areas (Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, etc.)

•  The minimum order is $50
•  For packing and delivery charges, please add $29.95 for the first five plants and $1 for each additional plant.
•  Taxes and duties are the customer's responsibility.
•  Cannot ship any Citrus, Musa, or Coffea to these areas; there are also other restrictions by area (see restrictions below).

    Other International Shipments

Due to recent changes in agricultural regulations we have stopped taking orders for International shipments.

Please call or email for further information: 888-330-8038 / [email protected]

Are There Restrictions on What Logee's Can Ship?

Yes, here they are ...
• Arizona, California, Florida, and Texas - Due to agricultural regulations, Logee's cannot ship Citrus to these states.
• Hawaii - Due to agricultural regulations, Logee's cannot ship Bromeliads, Coffee, Musa, Orchids, Passiflora, and Tillandisias to Hawaii.
• U.S. Territories and Outlying Areas (Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, etc.) cannot accept any Citrus, Musa, or Coffea.
• U.S. Territories and Outlying Areas (Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, etc.), Live plants shipped to these areas require special inspection and certification by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. There are also restrictions for each based on the local agricultural regulations. There are too many restrictions and changes occur too frequently for us to list them on our website. If a plant is ordered and is found to be restricted during the inspection, the plant will be removed from the order and the customer refunded the amount for that plant.

Ordering Questions:[Back to top]

Can I use a Gift Certificate online?

Yes, enter the Gift Certificate number on the checkout page under "Special Instructions." However, there is a catch - the State of Connecticut requires that Logee's receive the original certificate as proof of redemption. Therefore shipment of the order will be held until the Gift Certificate is received by us at:

Logee's Greenhouses
141 North Street
Danielson, CT 06239

Where do I enter my key code?

After you add the first item to your shopping cart and are on your shopping cart page, enter your key code and click on "Apply Key Code".

Does Logee's Offer Wholesale Pricing?

Unfortunately Logee's is currently unable to offer discounted wholesale pricing. Our retail sales have grown so much this year that our entire growing space is already dedicated to the plants we expect to sell through our catalogs. Logee's does not limit the quantity of plants you may purchase so you can buy as many plants as you wish, but pricing will be the normal retail pricing shown on the website.

Plant Questions:[Back to top]

Where can I get help with my plant care questions?

Logee's is currently putting together cultural information about almost all of our plants to be available on our website. However, it is quite a large project and so it will take us quite some time to finish. Go to our Plant Care page to see what we have available now. If you cannot find the information there, you can also ...
• Refer to the catalog or webpage for the specific plant, these contain the basic cultural information (sun requirements, minimum temperature indoors, zone, etc.)
• Take a look at our articles page, it contains some plant care information - Logee's Articles
• Call us with questions - (888) 330-8038

When should I plant my Blueberries, Strawberries and other outside plants?

Although most Logee's plants are for inside or outside your home, there are some plants that most people would prefer to plant outside.  For these plants there is a preferable time to plant outside depending upon your zone.  Use the zone finder and table below to determine when to plant outside in your zone.  Your may have your order held until this date by putting a note in the "Order Hold Date" portion of the checkout page (under "Special Instructions") or by telling the customer service representative if you place your order over the phone.  If you do not request a specific ship date, we will ship the plants to you as soon as possible.  The plants can be kept in your home until ready for planting outside, just as we keep the plants in our greenhouses.
