You can request
a “Hold Order” for Hardy Perennials and we will ship them
when it’s planting time in your zone. Otherwise, Hardy
Perennials can be kept in a cool or cold spot like an unheated
garage, cool cellar or outbuilding. Cover the pot and soil
with insulating material (burlap, clean rags, newspaper) and
check the soil every 2-3 weeks to make sure it doesn’t dry
out completely. In the spring, plant as soon as the ground
is open and no longer frozen. Dormant plants can endure
freezing temperatures in the spring as long as the plant
remains dormant without any green buds.
Golden Trumpet ‘Golden Butterfly’ (Allamanda cathartica)
Detailed Description
Golden Trumpet ‘Golden Butterfly’ (Allamanda cathartica)
The perfect Allamanda for the potted garden. It has all the brightness and floral form of the vining types, yet its growth habit is bushy and contained. Flowering profusely from early spring to late fall, its extravagant beauty and pleasing fragrance will delight you all year long.
Hardy to Zone 10 and higher for outdoors.
Full sun, grows to 1.5-2.5’ in container, minimum temperature 60° for indoors, blooms spring, summer and fall.
When i bought the plant at the greenhouse it was pretty large and had 2 tiny sets of buds on the two stems. A few weeks later it bloomed and it has very nice bright yellow flowers. I wouldnt say the flowers are too fragrant but they still have a light scent somewhat like the outside of a mango. Not to hard to grow but it needs lots of sun to flower so take it out in the summer.
