When to Plant Hardy Perennials |
| You can request
a “Hold Order” for Hardy Perennials and we will ship them
when it’s planting time in your zone. Otherwise, Hardy
Perennials can be kept in a cool or cold spot like an unheated
garage, cool cellar or outbuilding. Cover the pot and soil
with insulating material (burlap, clean rags, newspaper) and
check the soil every 2-3 weeks to make sure it doesn’t dry
out completely. In the spring, plant as soon as the ground
is open and no longer frozen. Dormant plants can endure
freezing temperatures in the spring as long as the plant
remains dormant without any green buds. |

AMAZING and Im near Chicago! |
| I placed my fig in a large pot with supports, and it fruited the first year! About 5 plump figs. I was afraid to put her in the ground, so I tried to winter her in the garage, but there was no stopping those leaves. As soon as its a bit warmer, into the ground she goes! |

Beautiful plants! |
| I received two beautiful trees in 4 pots. I left them in their pots to get accustom to their environment and now have transplanted them into bigger pots. Are they thriving Oh my yes! They have gotten 4 new leaves on each tree. Can hardly wait to plant them outside. Thank you Logee for giving an Idahoan the chance to have figs and make fig newtons like my aunt did when I was a kid. |

| I bought one of these four years ago. I have had wonderful crops, and my friends who never ate a fig before are thrilled at the taste. My fig is going to be shaded out by a neighbors tree. Im taking cuttings, but in case they dont root Im buying another. |

Cannot harvest my figs fast enough |
| I have had my Chicago Hardy fig tree for about 3 years now in Trenton, NJ. It has grown to over 10 high and this year’s crop of figs has topped all. Last year I reaped about a gallons worth. This year it seems I cannot pick them fast enough. Either fresh picked from the tree or my favorite baked stuffed with bleu cheese and a little bit of balsamic vinegar, wrapped in prosciutto and then drizzled with honey its nature at its finest. While our winters have been rough, it has not died back to the ground and I havent even followed my barbers instruction on how to wrap and cap it. Highly recommended!!! |
