Salvia ‘Hot Lips’ (Salvia x microphylla)
A wonderful new salvia that can be used in mixed containers, along the garden border or to fill a pot with color. Its unique bi-colored bloom adds a sparkle of color to the summer garden or potted container. A brilliant red band accents the radiant white blooms which cover the upright stems in pairs. Amazingly enough, the pairs of flowers look like miniature lips, hence its name, 'Hot Lips.' Like most plants in the Labiatae family, it's a fast grower that loves the sun and puts on a full display from late spring to fall. The foliage has a pungent sage fragrance.
