Commonly called the Corsage Gardenia, ‘Fortuniana’ has medium-sized, glossy green leaves and an abundance of deeply perfumed flowers that can reach up to 4” across. Blooming from mid-spring through mid-summer, the flowers turn cream-colored as they age, but the perfumed scent still lingers. It’s helpful to remove any faded flowers to encourage continuous blooming. Grow this gardenia in full sun in northern zones or partial sun in tropical areas with hot afternoon sun. Gardenia ‘Fortuniana’ should be grown in rich, acidic soil and fertilized at the start of the growing season.
