I order a lot of plants from Logee's, and I usually receive gorgeous, healthy, thriving plants. However, in my last order, I received three very unhealthy plants. This is one of three plants that I received that was just pitiful and unhealthy. The graft is unhealthy, and I've tried to nurse the pitiful things to health, but I don't think they're going to live. If they do live, I don't think they're going to grow to be very healthy trees since the grafts look awful. It is more likely that the scion will die and the initial rootstock will live if any part lives at all. At $50 per tree plus the exorbitant shipping costs, I am extremely disappointed that there was no quality control and that any nursery would send out such sickly and weak plants.

Jujube Plant ‘Li’ (Ziziphus jujuba)
A delicious fruit that’s not commonly known, but well worth growing in the home garden. Jujube ‘Li’ is one of the larger fruiting varieties as well as one of the earliest maturing. Jujube fruit start out green and turn to a mahogany color when ripe. They can be eaten fresh and taste similar to a sweet apple. Fruit can be left on the tree to dry or picked and dried. Commonly called Chinese dates, dried Jujube fruits are not as sweet as true dates but the flavor is similar and they will keep for months stored in an airtight container. The small trees are densely branched with a shrub-like appearance and a spring flowering season. Jujube ‘Li’ is self-fruitful so you only need one plant for fruiting. Recommended in zones 6-9.
