Like all abutilons (cousins of mallows) it wants to think it is living in a slightly-shaded bog. It took me a bit to get just the right combination of dampness and light. Once that was accomplished, it has kept itself covered with its lovely, primrose yellow flowers. I pinch off a leaf here and there to uncover the flowers that can get hidden under its foliage. But it is not a chore to do a little fussing over this one; it's simply a delight to look at!
Compared to other Abutilons, 'Little Sunshine' seems a bit shy. The leaves are smaller than others, and the plant, well I have to tell you, I didn't mean to, but I killed one of them (I'm ordering another, it was that good). Now, this is not a Spathiphyllum, you can't let it dry out and expect it to spring back. By the time of my return (it was 7 days I was absent), it was toast. So, don't forget to water this one. The flowers are a gentle shade of yellow and totally fetching. And like 'Pink Parachute' there were a lot of them at once! So this is surely one of the better Abutillons.
