Sue G. I live in Mystic, CT. I planted the Witches Hat in full sun in my garden and it grew vigorously but never bloomed. I didn't give up, though. I dug it up, potted it, and placed it in a west facing window. Again, it grew vigorously, so much so that I trimmed it back some. It's back again, and I plan to try it in my garden again this year. Any advice to encourage blooming? I'll attach a current photo.

The great news is that these beauties often need a bit of patience and the right conditions: they typically prefer some afternoon shade (especially in hot climates), consistent moisture without waterlogging, and benefit from slightly cooler nights, which might be the ticket in your west-facing spot. We'd suggest trying it there again this season and giving it a light feeding with a bloom-boosting fertilizer once it's established—we have a feeling those gorgeous blooms are right around the corner!
