Contorted Mulberry Bush (Morus bombycis ‘Unryu’)

Grown for its tasty purple fruit, Contorted Mulberry is also prized for its gnarly trunk and branches that create a unique specimen in the garden. When used as a landscape plant, especially in a Zen garden, it becomes the center of attention and other plants may be added to complement the beauty of this Japanese native. Mulberries are easy to grow since the plants aren’t bothered by insects or diseases. The Contorted Mulberry is self-fertile and it starts fruiting 2-3 years after planting.
