I have had my dwarf crown of thorns for about five years now, and could not be happier. This plant was one of my first purchases from Logee's, so it certainly tolerated a fair share of neglect while I was getting the swing of things. I would say that mine is about six inches high now, but I have pruned it to encourage it to branch out (it was getting a bit leggy). I was able to successfully start four new plants from the cuttings, all without any root hormone or other special care. I have repotted it once or twice, but I have never fertilized it (I plan to learn more about this soon...). It flowers on and off with dainty red flowers, which is lovely. I am so glad to have this fine friend on my plant shelf. I hope to purchase crown of thorns 'Golden Gem' and 'Red Bouquet' to keep it company.

Dwarf Crown of Thorns 'Splendens’ (Euphorbia milii)
A famous houseplant, known for its ease of growth and flowering, the Crown of Thorns has graced windowsills for over a century with bursts of color while tolerating blind neglect. This dwarf form has flowers that populate the spiny stems yet it stays compact making it the perfect potted plant for windowsills. For success in culture remember to allow the soil to dry out between watering, give it a sunny location, and it's as fool proof as any.
