Elephant Ear Redemption™ is an outstanding new Colocasia with dark, heart-shaped leaves highlighted by bright pink centers and hot pink veining. The juvenile leaves tend to emerge green and darken to black as they age. Young plants will start showing the pink veining once they reach a few feet tall. Tips for Success:

• Grow in full sun. The more sun the better, although they will grow under varying light levels.• Fertilize moderately but be consistent. Too much feed can burn the foliage.• In the summer water freely. They can be grown in water or at the water's edge. • For container and garden planting keep evenly moist.• In winter, tubers can be dug and stored in a basement, keeping some moisture around the root. Or grow inside as a houseplant.

Tender

Although these take full sun, every time I have it in full sun it scorches the tender leaves. I've yet to see any of the striking coloration described.

We apologize for the delayed response. We are sorry to hear that your plant is suffering due to sun scorch. Sun scorch usually occurs due to too much direct sunlight too quickly. If you can, try placing a new plant in a shaded location for a few days, then into a partially sunlit location for a few days, and then into a full sunlight. This helps the plant to acclimate to the suns strong rays and it should help prevent the sun scorch!
