A new twist on an old favorite, ‘Tropical Pink’ is much like the Egyptian Yellow Guava but more desirable because of its tasty pink flesh. This evergreen shrub or small tree puts on a spectacular show of fuzzy white flowers followed by oblong fruit that ripen in winter. The greenish-yellow rind is a protective covering for its delicious, pink, sweet, fruity flesh inside. The taste is a combination of passion fruit, strawberry and pear. ‘Tropical Pink’ will become a small tree reaching 15-20’ tall if planted in the ground, but when grown in a large pot, it can be maintained and fruited at 4-6’ tall.
