Hard to believe such a wonderful fragrance from a plant

I have had this plant in my yard for years. When we purchased a new home 5 years ago, I bought two young cuttings and planted them along my fence. They are currently over 10' tall and just as wide. I have cut them down hard twice and they always come back. They bloom about 4 times a year here in Southern California and the entire neighborhood is filled with fragrance. You can take cuttings of new wood, a little root-a-tone and you have new plants. Well worth the purchase.

The scent is luscious beyond words

I have several plants growing in pots. I put them outside during the summer and bring them indoors during September, when they bloom and fill the house with the most luscious scent of any plant I've ever known. Then I cut them back hard and overwinter them indoors. They root easily, by the way.

Fragrant Beyond Compare

Whenever I have a garden large or small or in clay pots, I try to have one of these wonderful plants. It is trying to find them, which is the trick. The common name "Lady of the Night" is used for brunfelsias, jasmine's and who knows what else. It is the Cestrum that is the true lady with a fragrance that will waft through the entire neighborhood. The photographs do not do it justice. When they flower, they are a blanket of white. They do very well in Full sun and a Southern Exposure. They can get gangly, so a good pruning is needed. Mine from Logees has become a lovely potted specimen. After two years it's about 4' H and 5' across. Enjoy it.

Heavenly scent

I live on a golf course in South Carolina. They use some unpleasant smelling chemicals/gray water on the turf during the night waterings. I wanted a fragrant, night-blooming plant that would make summer evenings on my porch more enjoyable. The cestrum nocturnum arrived in great condition, grew rapidly, and quickly began blooming. One night, I walked out onto the porch and the air smelled of orange blossoms and honey. Sure enough, it was this wonderful plant. The only bummer is that we have had a lot of heavy rain lately and all of the flowers fell off. I can't wait for it to bloom again so I can breathe in that lovely scent.
