Yellow Coconut Orchid ‘Yamada’ AM/AOS is an award winner from the American Orchid Society for its rare yellow flowers with reddish lips that emit a strong coconut smell. It generally blooms in spring and the flowers last 3-4 weeks. Maxillaria ‘Yamada’ is highly recommended as a starter orchid for beginning growers since it’s one of the easiest orchids to grow and care for. It’s durable and pest resistant. This prolific grower nearly doubles its size each year and it’s not uncommon to see dozens of flowers when in full bloom. This is a blooming size orchid in a 3” pot.
