Double Pink Waxflower (Chamelaucium uncinatum ‘Dancing Queen’)
The
Double Pink
Waxflower has
long been a favorite
of ours for its
long-lasting winter
into spring bloom
season. And, now
with hybridization,
this new variety, ‘Dancing Queen,’ has a more compact growth habit than the
original, making it perfect for container gardening. Ruffled, double lilac-pink
flowers appear in profusion on the growing tips of this Western Australian
native. The attractive needle-like foliage complements ‘Dancing Queen’s’
blooms and it makes a great cut flower. In the past, Double Pink Waxflower has
been a mainstay in Valentine bouquets. To be successful, make sure to grow in
an acid potting mix.
