Impressive in a large pot, or as a focal point in the garden, Elephant Ear ‘Portora’ has broad, wavy-edged leaves that are held high on strong vertical stems. It grows quickly into a 5-6’ tall plant during the first season. The stems are upright so it makes an ideal “thriller” in a mixed container with flowering plants growing around its base. Plant in rich, moist soil for optimum growth.

Nice specimen

The plant arrived within two days of shipment in outstanding condition.
It's much larger than I expected and in perfect shape. It's listed as a 4" container specimen, but arrived quite tall. I have not been able to find this locally at any of our tropical nursery's and I look forward to seeing it grow out.

Beautiful Large Tropical!

Got very large with gorgeous leaves. Mistakenly left it out in 20 deg freeze we had in Austin, TX. Fortunately, I'd surrounded the bulb with bath towels. Was sure I'd lost it, but like my bananas, it came roaring back from the bulb when spring started. It's looking as good as ever now in May!
