Honeyberry Bush ‘Blue Velvet’ (Lonicera caerulea var.edulis)
A member of the Honeysuckle family, Honeyberry ‘Blue Velvet’ is grown for its blueberry-like fruit. The small shrub is hardy to zone 3 and it’s easy to grow with no pest or disease problems. The shrub usually reaches 3’ high by 4’ wide. The tasty fruit looks like elongated blueberries, and they may be eaten fresh or frozen to enjoy later. ‘Blue Velvet’ needs another variety of Honeyberry for cross pollination. It will not set fruit without a cross pollinator. If you need a cross-pollinating variety, we recommend either Yezberry®Solo™ (P8957-4) or our Honeyberry Set (P9169-2X).
