Pakistan Mulberry (Morus nigra hybrid)
Probably the best of all mulberries, the 4-5” long fruit is super sweet and flavorful and is often used in jams, jellies and juices or eaten fresh. It is a large grower that can be managed in containers for a number of years with regular pruning of branches and roots. The fruit ripens in mid-summer for us in CT and it’s a heavy producer with flower buds emerging along the stems of the previous year’s growth. Hardy to Zone 7, it needs protection here in the north.
Hardiness Zone 7, 8, 9
Bloom Season Spring, Summer
Sun Requirement Full Sun
Grows to 6-8'
Minimum Temperature Indoors 35
